Wilderness Techie
I'm a tech guy. Computers mostly, web design, programming, etc. I've even tried my hand at raytracing. I live with my family on a 120 acre farm in south Missouri with any number of chickens, a horse, two ponies, 5 dogs, 29 cats, a few ginueas, about 80 goats or so and some Kikos, a bourke parakeet, 2 budgeragars, 2 lovebirds and 5 cockatiels. Oh, and about 25 head of cattle too; forgot about those. lol :)

Bento Dish Website
Wowzers! If there ever was a website tailor made for me, its the site: My Lunch Can Beat Up Your Lunch (love that name!)
Simple, easy to read, JAPANESE BENTO RECIPES!, and lots of nice pictures.
I totally LOVE bentos and cooking so I'm gonna be visiting this site alot.
Now... if I only lived next to an asian market so I could actually find those weird ingredients. ;)

Who said English was hard?!
Just take a look at this.
垂れ 【たれ】 (n) hanging; straw curtain; lapel; pocket flap; skirts of a coat; gravy; soy sauce
Said, 'tah-reh'
"Oh no, I spilled Tare (gravy; soy sauce) on my tare! (curtain; pocket; coat skirts)"
So much for learning Japanese!

What does 29 cats mean?
29 cats
+ one 60 sq.ft. porch
= Lots of cat fights.
(Yes, we really have 29 cats)
(Actually, they get along pretty well)
(Oh, BTW, you know that ad in the classifieds for free kittens? That's me. But they got my number wrong... oh well)

Spiders
I happened across a site called Steve's Australian Spider Pics, viewed a few pages, then went "eeeee, yikes" and left, only returning to get the name of the site so I could put it on my blog.
If you like spideys, check it out, nice photos, super* closeups.
*bone chilling

Mesothelioma
Ever heard of Mesothelioma? Same here, until I ran across a little article today about Mesothelioma Lawyers, lawyers who specialize in cases involving Mesothelioma.
Oh, I guess I should tell you what Mesothelioma actually is, huh? Mesothelioma is a condition that is brought on by being exposed to asbestos particles. 'AH!', I said when I read the Google definition. So, thats what Mesothelioma is!

When an S and an I and an O and an U and an X on the end spell SIOUX ,
And an E and a Y and an E spell EYE , what is a speller to do?
When an S and an I and a G and an H and an ED on the end spell SIGHED ,
There is nothing for a speller to do but commit SIOUXEYESIGHED .
Anon.

Wireless LAN Card
I figured since I'm going to the conference, I might as well get a wireless card for the laptop.
And so I did. Bought it yesterday off eBay.

New ISP (again!)
We have changed ISPs again! Major problems with equipment and service so we cancelled and I'm on dial-up until we can get another broadband service.
Heres who we have used since moving here:
Characterlink - dialup
FidNet - dialup
Direcway - broadband satelite
WildBlue - broadband satelite
GetGOIN - dialup
Right now I'm connected at about 3.7kb/sec. After being on 30-60kb/sec+ its going to be quite a change!
-Goin' slow in MO,

Cancelled Plans
Today our friends brought over some roosters; we were going to show them how to clean them and get them ready for cookin', but their plans changed so they just dropped them off.

Old Time Radio
I've recently been interested in old time radio, listening mostly on live365 but most recently I've 'discovered' downloadable episodes on the Internet Archives. So when I hear something on the radio that interests me, I'll look online or in the Archives for mp3's to download.
When I first heard the radio show "The Great Gildersleeve", I thought it would become a favorite. Well, I just got through listening to almost the entire 3rd season this afternoon, and I'm not so sure I like it much anymore. :|
I do like Dragnet though... :)

Recovered from Sick
Woo... I made it.
I was really sick last month May 6th to the end of the month.
Started with a headache on the afternoon and evening of the 6th, then the next 3 weeks was bad fever, 4th week the fever was finally gone but switched off for lupus flare-up, the worst I've been through. It was the feet/hands prickly pain, really bad.
Anyways, I'm over the worst, praise God. :)
